Creamy Quinoa and Hemp Seed Porridge
A whole foods porridge to start your day!
Ingredients
- 3/4 cup quinoa flakes
- 1 cup homemade hemp seed milk (see link below)
- 1 cup water
- 2 tbsp maple syrup
- 1/4 tsp sea salt
- 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp ground ginger
- 1 tbsp goji berries (optional)
To serve
- 1 cup berries (fresh or frozen)
- 2 tsp chia seeds
- 2 tbsp almond butter (or any nut butter)
- 2 tbsp coconut shavings
- 2 tbsp new hemisphere™ Hemp Seed Hulled
Instructions
- Combine the quinoa flakes, hemp seed milk, water, maple syrup, sea salt, cinnamon, ginger, and goji berries (optional) in a small saucepan.
- Bring to the boil over a medium-high heat then reduce to a gentle simmer.
- Cook for a further three minutes, stirring occasionally. Add more water if you wish for a thinner consistency.
- Place berries in a small saucepan with a splash of water. Heat gently until bubbling then place aside. Add the chia seeds and let the mixture sit for five minutes to thicken.
- To serve, divide between two bowls and top with the nut butter, berry mixture, coconut shavings, and new hemisphere™ Hemp Seed Hulled.
