Soak the dates in a small bowl for 5-10 minutes in boiling water. Discard liquid.
Process the walnuts, new hemisphere™ Hemp Seed Hulled, cacao powder, new hemisphere™ Hemp Protein, cinnamon, and salt in a food processor until mixture resembles coarse breadcrumbs.
Add dates, orange zest, and vanilla extract. Process again until the cake starts to come together when pressed. If it doesn't, add a little juice from the orange and process again. Repeat until the mixture comes together.
Press cake into a lined 15 cm round springform baking tin.
Place in the refrigerator to chill for 2 hours.
Take the cake out at room temperature for at least 30 minutes before you ice. This is so the cake is not too cold for the icing.
Remove from tin and spread with chocolate icing (on top and sides) using a bread and butter knife.
